I don't have any specific information about Mary, but my Smith line came through Ellenburg and Clinton County, New York and my direct ancestor is Royal (Roy) Smith, son of Ira Smith, grandson of Asa. DO you have birth or death dates for your Mary? My great great grandfather Royal Smith was born February 10, 1835, in Clinton County, probably between Chazy and Ellenburg. His father was Ira Smith and mother Rosella (Rosilla) Peck. Royal married Jane Augusta Hinman May 13, 1858 and my great grandfather Charles Lewis Smith was born March 8, 1859. Royal's parents moved to Wisconsin during the Civil War and Royal and Jane moved to Iowa about the same time. Ira's brothers included a William (Bill) and a Martin and another Roy... That's no proof we're related to your line, but the similar names are very intriguing. I'd love to know more. Ellan Seattle
