When the Joel Foster family got to Ind. they must have traveled with the Smith family also. and may have been related. Joel sr. married twice that I am aware of and he had a son born in 1836 named Joel and this Joel suposed to first married a Snodgrass named Harriet. who died Aug. 2, 1862 in Ill. and he then Married a daughter of James Smith and Spicy Dougherty who was named Sarah Ellen Dougherty Joel Sr. died in Orange Co. Ind. and Joel Jr. Died in Greenwood Co. Kansas Does any one have any of this line? I have the Dougherty part. but am sadly lacking on the Smith Part. but feel they were conected before the above marriage.
