OVERN, born 1828 in Ireland, possibly Newry area of County Down. Immigrated to America in 1835. Family was listed as being from Nova Scotia when they sailed from N.B. to Boston. Ann and her family lived in Charlestown, Massachusetts for many years before migrating west to Minneapolis, Minnesota area. (They were actually at Erin, Rice County.) On 13 July 1848, in Charlestown, Massachusetts, Ann married John Smith - no further information on him. On the marriage record, her surname was spelled as OVERAN. Ann's parents were James Overn, born 1798, Cloughenramer, County Down, and Ann Granger, born 1800, Cloughenramer. I have more information on Ann,if needed. Please, are you connected to this family? Surname variations could be OVERAN, OVERON, OVERIN, OVEREND. Any help appreciated! Patty Quinn Meigs
