In 1920 Florence was only 16 years old, so I would guess that she and Ernest had only recently married. Your best bet to find her maiden name is to look for a marriage certificate for them in Jan of 1920, or late in 1919, probably in DC. In 1930 Anna May is living with her paternal grandmother and step-grandfather, Serena and Henry L Barrick, while her father is in New York with his second wife and a daughter. Anna May was born abt 1923, so another option may be to try to obtain a birth certificate for her. Debby
