Classification: Obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/VJIBAEB/28437 Message Board Post: From "Aurora News-Register" [Aurora, Hamilton Co., NE], 2 Jun 1966: Services Thursday for Mrs. Charles Lulow, Long-Time Resident Rosella Lulow, daughter of Thomas H. and Catherine Nicholas [sic] Smith, was born on April 13, 1897, at Aurora and passed away May 30, 1966, following a lingering illness of several months, at the age of 69 years, 1 month and 17 days. Her entire lifetime was spent in Hamilton County. In 1927 she was united in marriage to Charles Lulow. They have made their home in Aurora. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Lester Smith in 1964. Those who survive are her husband, Charles; two sons, Donald of York and Leonard of Aurora; one daughter, Mrs. Shirley Klundt of McCool Junction; two brothers, Floyd of Los Angeles, Calif., and Thomas of Aurora; five sisters, Mrs. Nellie Miller of Central City, Mrs. Eva Daggett of Spokane, Wash,; Mrs. Lela Hamilton of Aurora; Mrs. Lila Sellers of Spokane, Wash.; and Mrs. Cecile Strong of Aurora; 12 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and other close relatives. Funeral services were held Thursday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Higby Mortuary, with the Rev. Donald Nunnally, pastor of the Evangelical United Brethren Church, officiating. Mrs. Lawrence Penner sang "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" and "Rock of Ages." Her accompanist was Mrs. C. W. Whitney Sr. Casketbearers were Thomas Smith Jr., Clarence Anderson, Viggo Thompson, Dave Friesen, Joe Danielson and Howard Purdy. Interment was in the Aurora cemetery. __________ Note: Rosella Smith, d/o Thomas Hill Smith & Katherine Georgia "Kate" Nichols, m1 Victor J Irwin of Hiawatha, Brown Co., KS. They had two known daughters, Vera, b. abt 1919, possibly died young, and Shirley M., b. abt 1923, m. [?] Klundt. One son from her second marriage, Leonard Charles "Abe" Lulow, b. 13 Nov 1931, Aurora, Hamilton Co, NE, d. 04 Jan 2004, Aurora. ____________________
