    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: smith, weathers Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/VJIBAEB/28453.1 Message Board Post: Not my Smiths, but here is what I found. Apparently his nickname was not "Corn Cob", but rather "Corn Club", because he organized Corn Clubs. Here is are some links explaining his work with these clubs and 4-H. http://msucares.com/news/releases/02/020422_4h.html http://www.nae4ha.org/hof/mississippi.pdf Francis was his son, not his daughter. Listed as Francis B. in the 1910 census. The B may stand for Bethal, which is what I believe the census taker was probably trying to spell in 1930. That's just a guess mind you. Below are census listings for who I believe is your William Hall Smith. They go back from 1880. 1880 Dist 1, Beat 1, Clay, MS Smith Family F. W. 45 AL GA MS Farmer/Miller Martha 35 AL NC NC Wm.
