Joseph Eugene Smith (b. 3/10/1874 d. 11/16/1946) was married to Mary (Mollie) Elizabeth Hickman on 7-2-1897 in Warren, Arkansas. His father was Cephas Smith, who seemed to bounce around from Louisiana to South Arkansas. From what I gather from census records, etc, he had several wives. I believe Joseph's mother was Ellen Beasley (1846-1899). I cannot locate any other confirmed information on Cephas. I hope someone can help me solve the mystery of "Who is Cephas Smith and where did he come from" Renee
