I've been looking for 25 years and the line you mentioned and the names are quite similar to mine, including the Pruitts. The difference is mine came from S.C. into Georgia and settled around (Milton and Cherokee County). The Pruitts came from Virginia, and some eventually settled in Texas.

I am looking for information on James and Jane Smith.. Jane was b. about 1829, she was still living in 1900. I k now that she had kids: William Smith b. 1876 married a woman named Alice - Richard Smith b. 1873 married 2 times 1st to Ada Brock 2nd to Maude Bazell- Elizabeth Smith b. 1875 md. Robert Moore - Annie Smith b. 1865 md. Thomas Whiteside and Bettie Smith b. 1866-1872. I know that Jane Smith was a widow in 1900 when she was living in Monroe Co., Tn.
