    3. Hi PA, Afraid I can't help you with your Samuel but you might hear of some information on my Samuel Smith who was born ca. 1803 in Montgomery Co. Ky. His father took him with two other sons, William and John, all between the ages of 4 and 8 years old, and joined the Ohio Shakers in their colony at Lebanon, Ohio. At about thae age of 25 Samuel left the Shakers having become disenchanted with them. I think he may have returned to Ky. where his mother , Polly, and his two brothers were. His father, James Smith Jr. stayed with the Shakers until he died in 1858. He was the son of Col. James Smith, the old captive of the Indians and Rev. War soldier. I have written a book about this man and his adventuresome life. Best regards and let me hear if you think there might be a connection . Tom P.
