He was apparently raised in an orphanage in Brooklyn and became an attorney. Their father, Captain Eugene Theodore SMITH, died of cholera in August 1861. Their mother, Margaret SHIBLEY. died of apoplexy the next day. A thrid son, Andrew Hall SMITH, was a baby and probably was adopted. I have considerable information to share. Our Mayflower lineage has been accepted.
