Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 2 in the Chapel of the Higby Mortuary. The Rev. Clarence Campbell, pastor, officiated. Interment was in the Aurora Cemetery. Casketbearers were Tommy Smith, Leonard Lulow, Donald Lulow, Gary Eberhardt, Allen Strong and Michael Svoboda. The daughter of Thomas H. and Katherine Nichols Smith, Lela Fay Smith was born in Giltner on Jan. 16, 1901. As a small baby, she came with her parents to Aurora and most of her lifetime was spent here. In 1921 she was united in marriage to Albert J. McCall, Sr., one son was born to them. They resided in Lexington. In 1924 she returned to Aurora and in 1938 she was married to Sam Hamilton in Nelson. He preceded her in death on Nov. 12, 1962. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Mrs. Rosella Lulow and Mrs. Nellie Miller; three brothers, Thomas J. Smith, Jr., Lester Smith and Floyd Smith. She is survived by her son, Albert McCall, Jr.; one grandson, Bryan McCall of Houston, Tex.; three sisters, Mrs. Lila Sellers of Spokane, Wash., Mrs. Eva Daggert of Ellensburg, Wash., and Mrs. Cecile Strong of Aurora, many other relatives and close friends. __________ Note: Lela's twin sister, Lila, d. 17 Aug 1981, Spokane, WA; m.
