I am looking for SMITH connections from the La Porte, IN area. I have very little information to go on. I am looking for anyone who may have SMITH connections from there. My g-g-grandfather, NORMAN HURON SMITH was known to have lived there and then on to Leavonworth, KS in the mid 1860's. His son, WILLIAM HENRY SMITH was born in Leavonworth in 1864 and died in Fresno, CA in 1934. WILLIAM H. SMITH also lived in Cherokee County, KS (Galena) in the early to mid 1890's and served in the Spanish/American War. His wife's maiden name is unknown but first name was Doris/Delores/Dorces(?). thanks, Brad
