His Virginia born father was John Smith (how lucky can I get?).. I have wondered if ggg grandfather John Smith's father was named Samuel, since that was often the naming pattern. The only thing is, I don't know where my John was born in Virginia. My Samuel was b. in OH.. and some of his siblings and kids were born in KY. The family finally settled in Izard Co. ARK. My Samuel's daughter, Mary Ann, was b. in MO (???). She eventually moved to Miller Co. MO where she married William Wilson Sloan. This couple were my g grandparents. Ellie S.
