White Hall is about 20 miles from where my grandfather was born, in Auburn, Sangamon, IL. His name was Lowell Lawson Smith, son of Theodore William Smith Jr. William Jr. was born in Chana, Lee, Il. in 1861 his father William Sr. came from Chambersburg,PA. Could be related. I assume they were married in Kansas as all of the children but one were born there. Children: MY GRANDFATHER:Herbert Howard Smith.b.03 Sep 1901 in Latham, Butler County, KS. d.05 Feb 1984 in Salina, Saline County, KS Herbert married Winnifred Blanche Stephenson Abt. 1920 Their children were Gloria Marie Smith & MY MOTHER Betty Lou Smith.
