She was born Sept. 4, 1923, in Logansport, a daughter of Chester and Catherine (Neumeyer) Kistler. On July 11, 1942, in New Jersey, she married Thomas A. Smith, and he died Sept. 23, 1988. She graduated from Logansport High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of All Saints Catholic Church in Logansport. She loved her church and her family. Survivors include three sons, Thomas Joseph and wife Vikki Smith, Logansport, James R. and wife Connie Smith, Kokomo, Michael A. and wife Annette Smith, Munster; grandchildren, Gretchen Cockey, Stephanie Scagnoli, Thomas C. Smith, Heather Dexter, Jonpaul Smith, Jason Smith, Aaron Smith, Conya Gaier, Joshua Smith, Ryan Smith, Kelli Landis and Heidi Smith; two brothers, Richard E. Kistler and James and wife Betty Kistler, all of Logansport; and a sister, Mary Catherine Pumphrey, Houston, Texas. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Tom and Jackie Kistler. A Funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at All Saints Catholic Church in Logansport with the Rev. Michael McKinney presiding. Burial will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Logansport. Friends are invited to call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Marocco Funeral Chapel, 119 E. Market St., with a scripture service to be held at 7:30 p.m.
