SMITH and Sylvia Marie VAUGHN (b 14 SEP 1913, d Mar1974) She died in Michigan Sylvia's parents were Harry G. VAUGHN and Rose A REYNOLDS. They were in Festus MO at the time of Sylvia's birth. Rose was 16, Harry was 26. Either Rose's mother or father was a full-blooded Cherokee. Dennis has said many time that he is one eighth Cherokee. I do not call him a liar One last thing, Dennis's father was a Vice President for Chrysler Corporation, probably back when it ran #4 behind American Motors. It was the Sterling Heights, MI plant. However, with a surname like SMITH I see little in the way of hope. All your help, please. Jim Verheule

The only Smith, I know of that was connected to Chrysler Corporation, in a position such as Vice President was Jack Smith. My Family has tales of this being my Uncle on my Grandfathers side. My Grandfather was Stanley H. Smith, living in Louisiana by 1922 or so. We also have the same story of his father being Indian, but the connection is to one of the Souix tribes.
