Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/VJIBAEB/28523 Message Board Post: I have transcribed the 1957, 46 page manuscript by Isabella V. Fonner titled “Smith Family of Smithville” (Smithville is now Dunkirk, Calvert County, Maryland) and posted it to my web site at: www.nrmcburney.net/Mac/Genealogy/Smith_Family_of_Smithville.pdf Her preamble reads, “Records collected from the Smith Family Bible, from Maryland Biographies and from personal letters and talks with older members of the Smith family. Also included are Wills, notes and some records of families allied with the Smith family through marriages.” If you have ancestors from the area, you might find the document of interest. Since it almost a near certainty that I have failed to produce an error-free document please make me aware of any errors/issues you find.

A lot of those names do fit to the records I have found from the parish records in Malvern Link. I do not live local to Malvern Link in Worcestershire, but I am planning a train journey to Worcester soon to look at some more parish records that are held there for Malvern Link. I have so far four more churches to look through for records so I will be able to get more details then. The Smiths are distantly related to me, but thanks again for your help. My family are all catholics, I say this because it helps to determine which ancestors belong to my family and to save time with any confusion. For example, I thought I had a match with names and dates of some ancestors with someone else in Northern Ireland, but then we realised that the religion was different, mine were catholics and theirs were protestants in Ireland so it turned out that we were not related to each other.

    1. Re: [SMITH] Re: Smiths of IL or MO
    2. I read your email to the Smith List and I enjoyed it but I think you made a mistake in your information, if I read it right, you said your Grandfather Joel Claud Smith married Lillie on Oct. 25, 1917, and had two children, then you said his second wife was Alice and she was born Nov. 15, 1908 and they married Oct. 25, 1917, Alice would have been only 9 years old and plus that was the date Joel married Lillie. I'm not trying to be smart just trying to be a good neighbor and help you out, I'm searching for my father's parents, I think he changed his name, he was suppose to have came from MO. Have a good evening,

Smith married a Catherine Hickey while still in Ireland. James P. was born about 1819. They arrived in Prince Edward Island between 1849 and 1851. I suspect that the brothers/sisters of James P. (children of Philip Smith and Catherine Brennan, could be in your group. James P. and his Catherine had 9 children:Mary Elizabeth, Philip, Michael, Henry, Anne,James, John, Andrew and one who died. Even the name Fredrich is in our tree. Francis, Arthur, Charles, are afew more picked up. Definitely Catholic.

Surnames: Aurand, Moore, Smith Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/VJIBAEB/15108.1.1.1.2.1.1 Message Board Post: Jim, Sara Grace Moore, b. 21 Mar 1902, d. 21 Sep 1973, m. Fern Randolph Aurand, b. 14 Sep 1897, d. 20 Sep 1963. Their children were Eleanor Marie, b. 7 Nov 1923, d. 15 Sep 2004; James Moore, b. 14 Aug 1925; Doris Shirley, b. 10 Mar 1927; Dorothy Grace, b. 24 Jan 1930, d. 25 Feb 1954; and Carl Fern, b. 14 May 1935. It's too bad Eleanor is not alive; she and I puzzled over the Smith connection with Tillie Aurand. Now she'd have her answer. Eleanor began keeping genealogical records of the Aurand family when she in high school. Her files are now with the Mifflin County Historical Society, I believe. Before she died, she said they were going to be digitized and made available. Richard
