I AM looking for a Jim Smith that that lived in Arkansas, near to the white or ST. Frances River. He had a brother named JAMES M. SMITH. The family came from Georgia to Alabama where the elder James Smith, we think is his name was married and we know they had two boys James m smith 1857-1923 and Jim smith the youngest. The dad, we are told came to MT PLEASANT Marshall County MISSISSIPPI in late 1870 or early 1880 with the boys. Jim went on to Arkansas and JAMES m Smith stayed in Marshall County, MS. Jim may have went back home at a later time, but he may have not, I am trying to find out some information. We think there mother may have been native AMERICAN BUT DIED, by the way my gggrand dad was dressed in a picture when he was 21, but I may be wrong..CAN YOU HELP . Peggy Memphis,Tn

His death certificate states he was born 30 April 1865 in Pulaski County, Wisconsin. He married Maude E. Wagers, b. 22 February 1874 in the Dakota Territory. They removed to Ft. Calhoun, Nebraska. Maude died 13 August 1913 and was buried at Ft. Calhoun, Nebraska. I cannot find any more references to him until 1930 when he turned up in his son's, Lloyd W. Smith, household in Missouri. Any information on Frank's parents or any of this family would be greatly appreciated!
