Moved with family to Lenawee Co., MI ca. 1835. Married William Henry Smith in Jackson Co., MI in 1845. Temperance and Wm. Henry Smith had at least 4 children, all born in MI: Thomas (born ca. 1846); Orpha (born ca. 1849); George (born ca. 1851); & Mary (born ca. 1852). I believe Wm. Henry Smith died sometime between 1852 and 1860. The last time I can find Temperance in the US Census is in 1860 and she was living in Saline, Washtenaw Co., MI. Any help would be appreciated.

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/VJIBAEB/27988 Message Board Post: Hi, I am looking for the family of Jesse Kindle of Scott County, VA. He married Jane Ray 1844 in Rockingham County, NC. They had: Frances, Louisa, Elizabeth, Catherine, William, Emily, Nancy, Virginia and Rosa. Jane died in 1860. Jesse remarried in 1865 a widow Martha Babb. In the marriage register. Jesse is listed a being born in Fauquier County, VA and his parents were Jesse and Catherine. Martha was the daughter of Adam and Nancy Smith. Matha first married Thomas Babb and third George Bishop. From the census records it appears Jesse and Martha did not live together. In 1870 & 1880 she is in her own household as Martha Babb and Jesse is living with daughters. Jesse and Martha seem to have at least two children but took the Babb name. They were William b ca 1866 and Sarah. William possibly married Darthula Walden or Wallen in 1887. Jesse Kindle died in the 1880s and Martha married for a third time to George Bishop in 1889. I would appreciate any information on any of these Scott County families. Thanks Scott skendall@kc.rr.com
