(Sebron or Seborn) White, possibly the entry below. He left home, TN when he was 15 and never saw his parents again. He married and lived mostly in Spring City, Newton Co., MO after his marriage abt. 1886. I was wondering if anyone here is related to the Smith's in this census. I am working on a new theory that he might have met his wife through these people. She was Rose Ellen Edmond or Edmondson (Edmund on the 1880 census). There was a Smith on down the line with this family and since George is my brick wall, I'll try anything. I have checked on a death certificate for 1912, and there was not one issued for him, so I'm looking at other ways to find his parents. I would appreciate any input concerning this Smith family or George S. White. The Texas Almanac lists a "Flo" in Leon County Texas (East TX) and there was once a "Flo" in Moore County Texas (Panhandle) but nothing near Denton, TX. There is no "Flow" listed at all. This does not mean there couldn't have been at one time a country cemetery, church, or both near Denton by that name but was not an "official" town, per se. ----- Original Message ----- From: <Grannyangel41@aol.com> To: <SMITH-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, March 19, 2006 1:15 PM Subject: [SMITH] Flow Texas > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/VJIBAEB/28058 > > Message Board Post: > > Does anyone know if there is a town named Flow in and around Denton Texas? Smith, an Army surgeon posted at Fort Bayard, NM, married Alice Kennon (daughter of an ancestor of mine), 5 March 1877 at the Church of St Vincent De Paul, Silver City, Grant County, New Mexico. They ended up in Grants Pass, Oregon but still had ties to NM. The reason I believe there's a connection is that Alice's brother was named Wilfred--and she might have named her son after her brother. It's just a guess, and I still am working on where Robert Smith came from. If you think any of this is a "fit," please email me and we can compare notes, as I have the Kennon ancestry fixed back to 1600s.
I am also researching Smiths but the Hayes name is very prominent in my family geneology mostly from Sussex New Brunswick. Maybe give Sussex a try. My Ggrandmother was Hattie Lee Davis. She was born in 1873 in Clermont County Ohio. She married Charles W. Smith in 1892 in Cincinnati, Ohio. They had a son James Robert Smith born in 1894 in Cincinnati. Hattie is found in the home of Joseph Fennell as a cook in Kenton County Ky, in 1900. It says she is married for 8 years and has 1 child which is correct. But I cannot find Charles or James in the 1900 census anywhere. By 1908 Hattie is remarried to George Usborne from Cincinnati. On her marriage record it says that she is previously widowed. Which means that Charles had died between 1900 and 1908. Well needless to say I have searched for 12 years for information on Charles with no luck. Is there anyone out there that may have a Charles W. in their line that might connect to mine. My father was born in 1925 to James Robert Smith in Florence Graves Smith in Joliet Illinois. I dont know what would have taken them out to Illinois where my father was born, possibly family. I have not been able to trace any of my Smith roots past my grandfather James Robert Smith. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Rose

Smith, my great grandmother, and Calvin and Louisa (unknown) Smith, my great great grandparents. Found Calvin and Louisa (unknown) in the 1840 Hamilton County Census. Found Calvin, Louisa, Nancy and other siblings on 1850 (Dist 27) and 1860 (Harrison) Hamilton County Census. Charles Calvin was born in Davidson County, Tennessee, 1866. According to info from family. Found Nancy J. Smith and Charles along with some of Nancy's brothers and sisters on 1870 (Chickamauga) Hamilton County Census. Also found Nancy and Charles along with two other children for Nancy on the 1880 (Dist 45) Hamilton County Census. Charles Calvin married my grandmother, Sarah S. Foust, 1885 in Daisy, Tennessee. They moved on to Kentucky, Missouri, Nebraska and then on Atchison, Kansas. Does anyone have any of these people in their family tree? Does anyone have any suggestions on where I might find any info on them? I have not been able to find anything on them except for the census. I would think since they were in the same basic area for over 40 years, which I believe to the the Soddy-Daisy area, there should be a trace of them somewhere. Would appreciate any info, clues or suggestions. Thanking everyone in advance.
