He marred in 1844, possibly in Johnson County, Tennessee, to Mary J. SOLOMON/COX/CLACK. (Her family seems to have used all three of these surnames interchangebly over the years; aren't you glad you don't have them in your direct line? *G* I'll trade if you want them!). Robert and Mary's children were Alice Elizabeth Jane, Sarah A., Nancy K., Hanna, Mary J., Susan A., Lucinda, Charles Henry and John Harrison. Any further info would be lovely! Thank you!
I am looking for a Fanny Smith born around May 1795 in New Hampshire or Mass. She married Jacob Mathews and lived in Huron Ohio when he died in 1836. They were married around 1822 in Ohio. Before Jacob's death they had 5 sons, William 1824, Samuel 1826, Henry 1829, Joseph 1831 & Jacob Jackson 1834. Fanny married Joseph Strickler/Strickland shortly after Jacob's death. Fanny and children are found by 1850 in Allen Co IN. There are a number of Smith's from the Huron area living near them-Samuel, Daniel, Kelly all born in NH around the same time as Fanny. Anyone have information on this family?

I don't have any specific information about Mary, but my Smith line came through Ellenburg and Clinton County, New York and my direct ancestor is Royal (Roy) Smith, son of Ira Smith, grandson of Asa. DO you have birth or death dates for your Mary? My great great grandfather Royal Smith was born February 10, 1835, in Clinton County, probably between Chazy and Ellenburg. His father was Ira Smith and mother Rosella (Rosilla) Peck. Royal married Jane Augusta Hinman May 13, 1858 and my great grandfather Charles Lewis Smith was born March 8, 1859. Royal's parents moved to Wisconsin during the Civil War and Royal and Jane moved to Iowa about the same time. Ira's brothers included a William (Bill) and a Martin and another Roy... That's no proof we're related to your line, but the similar names are very intriguing. I'd love to know more. Ellan Seattle
