I was one of the first to do the DNA test and I don't have any matches yet but with an anscester with no paper trail this may be the only way. No. There are no male descendants other then my brother. He is the son of a son of a son, so he is the best one to do the test. Like I said, no Smith matches at all....I haven't been able to trace further then my g great grandfather b. 1832 in PA. That is why I got my brother to do the test for me... Why do you suggest a male first cousin? Rhoda

There are several family stories as to where my GG Grandfather Stephen C Smith b. 1832 came from. We do have a copy of his marriage certificate that shows that he married to my GG Grandmother Samantha Jane Bilbrey b. 1834 on August 24, 1856 in Carroll County Tennessee by C B Smith. In the 1860 Carrol County Census Charles B Smith, from NC age 50, is listed as a Baptist Minister. While I cannot find anything that indicates that this is Stephen's dad, I do think that he is at least a relative, Uncle maybe. We have been looking for Stephen's father for years. Stephen was born in NC or TN. The 1860 & 1870 Cenus indicate one or the other. I would appreciate any information that anyone could provide. A few facts. Stephen and Samantha and children moved to Arkansas in about 1883. Stephen died 16 Feb 1890 and Samantha died between 1901 & 1905. I have the linage on all of the children through the 1950's. Stephen, however, is a mistery.
