Hello Sally Have you checked out Chris Mahoney's website? http://www.chrismahoney.co.nz/ If you click on "Records", it lists births, marriages and deaths for all Smarts in New Zealand from 1840 to 1990. Herbert Cecil died in Auckland in 1969, aged 77. Ian Russell was born in 1927 in Auckland. The following is from an online search of http://www.manukau.govt.nz/en/CouncilServices/ManukauMemorialGardens/pages/G enealogySearchResults.aspx?firstname=&lastname=smart Date of Death: Saturday, February 15, 1969 Block: Old Papatoetoe Cemetery, Body / Ashes Lot:ANGLI-PLOT-963Date Buried: Tuesday, February 18, 1969 Can't find any further mention of Ian Russell on Chris's website after the mention of his birth - no marriages or death notices - he could still be alive or maybe he left the country?
