Hi there I've been doing research into the Smart family in Scotland for a friend. The name Alexander does appear in the family, but I have not found any mention of an Isabelle Martin. Alexander Smart was the son of James Smart and Jean Anderson. He was born on 23 September 1832 in Brechin, Angus. It is possible that there is a side line that I haven't investigated yet, so I'll keep my eyes open for an Isabelle Martin.
