He had a brother, Thomas. Perhaps this brother is your Thomas Smart. The parents were Alexander Smart and Agnes Gold. Andrew arrived in Montreal, Quebec in 1812 and by 1820 lived in Martintown, Glengary, Ontario. You can check my Smart Family Tree on Ancestry.com for more information.
