    3. I'm likewise investigating Smarts in Missouri. Might I inquire where in Missouri your John Smart 1st appeared? I have a John Smart buying land in Feb 1819 in what would later become Chariton County. Purchased using a Land Grant Patent issued for service in WAR of 1812. Maybe not an perfect fit but still worth an email inquiry. He married there in 1811? By 1860 he was in Missouri. I found him in both 1860 and 1870 census in Missouri. I've sure hit a brick wall as to where he came from prior to Penn. or when, or who he belonged to. You didn't list any time frame for your people? ::crossing fingers:: ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, March 31, 2009 7:34 PM Subject: Re: [SMART] Sir Peter Smart > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Author: mclt1 > Surnames: Smart > Classification: queries > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.smart/985.1.1.4/mb.ashx > > Message Board Post: > > I'm new to this, but with the help of a couple of great aunts, I have been > given a good deal of information regarding the Smart branch of my family. > I was browsing through some of the threads when I read yours regarding > Peter Smart.
