    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: LAnnF Surnames: Smart Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.smart/1721/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Does anybody have any information on the Smart family? I am trying to find the parents of Sarah Smart (b. 1 Jan 1816, d.12 Aug 1889) who married David Phillians. Their children are buried at Bokes Creek Cemetery. In addition, these other Smart's are buried there-- J.D.(1828-1864) Col Wm (1803-1859) I have found a record stating that Col. Wm is the son of Isaac (1779-1828) and Susannah Swope (b. abt 1777 PA) I believe Isaac may be a son of William (1753 -1813) who died in Franklin Co. There is also a Joseph floating around b. 1776. Are Isaac and Joseph brothers and sons of William? I appreciate any information you can share. Thanks. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Author: Irish_Texan Surnames: Smart Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.smart/1625.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hello! Even though your post is from 2009, thought I'd try contacting you to see if I'm related in anyway through my maternal grandmother, Mary Anna Smart. If I've found the correct US Census records for my grandmother's family, then her parents were James & Sallie Smart. Both my grandmother & my great-grandfather were born in Texas and lived mostly in North Texas, which is also where I live. Unfortunately, my grandmother wasn't very close to her family, with the exception of her brother George I believe, so the Smarts were pretty much a mystery to my mom and her brothers, even when they were young children. If there is a possible connection, then any info you can provide is much appreciated...THANK YOU! Kelly Day Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
