I have a Nancy Jane Smart, born 24 AUG 1828 in Penn., died 14 Dec 1887, in my husbands tree. We are at a dead end though, so if this is the same Nancy I'd love to share information? Her parents were John Smart and Ruth Coleman. She had two brothers William J. and James M. that I know of. His line comes down through James. Pam said she had contacted him but will wait awhile to contact him again. My brother-in-law, Charlie, lives in Cape Town. His grandfather - Charles Edward Smith - who went from Australia to South Africa, lived in Durban, Natal, where Charlie was born. He married my sister in Durban although they moved to Cape Town some 25 or more years ago now. How interesting about a Zipporah Smith living in London. Pity she didn't reply, it would have been interesting to see whether she was related. I will keep in touch with any information I come up with. Thanks for your interest. Seeking ancestors of John Smart and Elizabeth Day. John was born about 1734 at Orton Waterville, and married Elizabeth on 13 October 1761 at Farcet, Huntingdon. They had six children, all boys.
