What I initially need to confirm is that this Daniel is father to William Smart (1814 Winchcombe Glos) William was a Tallow Chandler in Yatton somerset. I am 99% sure it is. It seems they were mainly involved in tallow chandlery, Daniel being a Soap Boiler in 1814. John Smart is my GGGGG grandfather. I have very little really as I have only just discovered this possible link back to John. If this is the correct family, I have quite alot on William and his family which maybe of interest. Here is the website containing the information I have so far for John Smart Families, you will see if you click on Daniel it has some of his children, although not complete as it does not include my William Smart: http://www.tonyteague.freeserve.co.uk/Surnames/f705.htm hope this helps! But I would recommend searching Nevada divorce records. In most states at the time of this divorce, there was quite a long waiting time or there was a great deal of burden to proove cause for divorce. In Nevada, there was not much of a burden and if I remember right you only had to be a resident of Nevada for 6 weeks (or mayabe it was less--I'm going on an old memory). Nevada became quite well known and the butt of many jokes as being the quickie divorce state. Reno actually advertised hotel rates for divorces. I don't know if there is any online index for Nevada divorces, but it wouldn't hurt to try. Leslie Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Turns out that Bernice's husband is related to my Jackson family. He was brother to my great-grandfather Olin Jackson! I actually had Emerson Ernest Jackson as Charles' son, but didn't realize that he was the same Ernest Jackson that I had listed as married to Bernice. My information on the Jackson family matches yours exactly. I never could figure out the connection between Eleazer and the first Edward Jackson that settled in Newton, MA although I, too, had read that Eleazer was descended from him. I have the Thayer information going way back into England, but I didn't realize that Frinda Cook was descended from Francis Cook of the "Mayflower"! Here's more info on the Leveilles: Peter Roderick/Rudolph Smart B:4 Oct 1868 (as Pierre Fourquin dit Leveille)-St. Michel, Yamaska, Quebec and D: 18 Sep 1948 Westmoreland, NH. Married to Eva Lyda Fuller. Pierre Fourquin dit Leveille B: 22 Dec 1845 - St. Michel, Yamaska. Married 16 Oct 1866 to Elisabeth Giguere. Joseph Fourquin dit Leveille B: 22 Apr 1814 - Yamaska. Married 2 Oct 1836 Emilie Bergeron. Joseph Michel Fourquin dit Leveille B: 14 dec 1787 - Yamaska. Married 27 Jan 1812 Marie Anne St. Germain. Joseph Fourquin dit Leveille B:3 Nov 1763 - Yamaska. Married 20 May 1787 Marguerite LaSalle dit Talussier. Joseph Francois Fourquin dit Leveille B: About 1723 - Parish of Vittel, Diocese of Thou, Lorraine, France. Married 22 Feb 1762 Marie Anne Giguere in St. Michel, Yamaska, Quebec. Marriage dates come from Drouin. Birth dates have been verified through baptismal chruch records through Joseph, B: 22 Apr 1814. I'm still working on finding the baptismal records for the earlier births. I've also t! raced back many of the wives lines as well and have found that Marguerite LaSalle dit Talussier has a Native American ancestor! I know a fair amount about Peter from my father who lived with and worked for him when he was a teenager. Peter was French-Canadian and changed his name upon entering the US. His original name was Pierre Leveille. The family also used the "dit" name of Fourquin. I found Peter's church baptismal record under the name of Pierre Fourquin. Peter's father was Pierre Leveille (born Dec 1845 in Yamaska) and his mother was Elisabeth Giguere (born May 1847 in Yamaska). The Leveille family traces back in Canada to the mid-1700's. Prior to that the family was in France. Peter's wife Eva's parents were Edgar Fuller (born about 1854) and Sarah Lindacomb (born about 1856). My info on Eva's parents is much less concrete - dates are approximate and locations are unknown. Peter and Eva had 13 children. The first couple were born in CT. The next couple were born in MA. Then there were some born in VT. Peter and Eva lived in the Hartland, CT and G! ranby, CT area, initially. They were married in Springfiled, MA on 14 OCt 1897. They also lived in the Newfane, Townshend and Brownsville, VT area as well as in Ashuelot/Winchester, NH. Could you fill me in on Bernice? I have her married to 1) Charles Graham and 2) Ernest Jackson. I'm wondering if Ernest is related to the Jacksons in another branch of my family?
