I have the family tree back as far as the 1841 census, as this is my ex-husband's tree, and he is a direct descendant of John Samrt/Mary Rudman of Marsh, Calne, found on the 1851 census in Wiltshire. I would be delighted to pass on any information regarding his earlier tree, as I have concentrated more on my own since we parted. However, we still remain close, so I would love to hear from you, none the less! Many thanks, Cilla Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. His family is described in a book which can be read online thanks to the Google digitizing effort: "The Donald family: with notes on related families" By Donald Gordon. The Smart chapter starts on page 27. Many of the names of the Smarts mentioned seem to correlate with names that have been mentioned on this board. I am a great grandson of the James J. Smart who is quoted in some of the footnotes.
