Author: andysmarty Surnames: Smart Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.smart/1573.3.2.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Thanks for your indepth reply!..and sorry for taking such a long time to get back to you. I have researched the Gloucestershire side of things and together with your input can only assume Daniel Smart family were from Smarts in Wiltshire*, it remains a mystery why they are in Winchcombe at this time as they move back to Wilts (possibly as early as 1819) and remain in the Trowbridge area (at least from 1841 census onwards). His son William Smart is in Somerset by mid 1830's but his sister Mary Ann I am unable to locate a death or marriage for. *I have a Daniel Smart born in Atworth Wiltshire to John and Eliza Smart who marries a Mary Ann Waddhams. Several of the family are Tallow Chandlers. Thanks again for your help Andy Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 3. Do you know if these Fortiers were in Canada? My Angele Legris married an Oliver Fortier in 1840 in Quebec. I have no other info, just that name. Also the name Hippolyte does show up in my Legris line several times? But maybe it is just a really common name. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, July 09, 2010 1:19 PM Subject: Re: [SMART] May Zoanna Smart Edginton > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Author: zoelecours > Surnames: > Classification: queries > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.smart/144.1.1/mb.ashx > > Message Board Post: > > Hello Dianne, > I am sorry it's been so many years since I have been able to respond. > However, life happens.
