Slovenians are from Slovenia, formerly part of Yugoslavia. The confusion often stems from the fact they both use "Slovensko" to describe themselves. I have heard that the two peoples were once the same, but that the invading eastern tribes split them and formed what is now Hungary. The two languages have the same origin but eight hundred years or more have made them quite different. Can anyone add more facts to this? John
