My mother was born in Hammond, Indiana, to Croatian immigrants and wrote down their hometown as "Stankovo Yaska." But now I suspect these are two separate towns or villages. I have my grandparents baptismal certificates but have difficulty deciphering the calligraphy even if I could translate it. However, I think the only place name is the Diocese of Zagreb so the documents may not be helpful. Nonetheless, I did attach them to their ancestry.com profiles (Matt Fabiyanic 1893-1937, and Mildred Belan 1895-1989). I don't know anything about their lives in Croatia, and it would be something to establish their birthplaces or hometowns, at least.
