Author: melissaanne29 Surnames: Purkart Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.eeurope.slovenia.general/6604.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Korosec was my great-grandma's maiden name too. she married into the purkart name. my great-great grandpa, jozef, died in slovenia before my grandma & her family immigrated to the states in 1950. the family i do have here are settled in and around Joliet, IL. I know nothing else about my family's history in Slovenia unfortunately. I believe my great-great grandma was born around 1880 but have no idea what province she was from. I know that my grandma did serve the allies during WW2 in a camp in Austria adn then later was transported to the states from a port in Germany by the allies. Or at least that's the family story.
