That was also my great-grandmother's name. I don't know much, since I learned it only recently, when I found my grandparents' marriage record from 1917 and learned that was my maternal grandfather's mother's maiden name. It was a generation back farther than your family. She would have been born around 1880 and died in Slovenia sometime prior to 1911 along with her husband, Jakob Kozlevcar, in an influenza epidemic, according to family lore. My grandfather emigrated in 1911 as a teenage orphan. There were Korosecs in Forest City, PA, which is where my grandfather first settled. My family lived in MN, PA and eventually settled in Cleveland. Any of this sound familiar? The family probably came from Sticna in Slovenia.
