Namestovo is only about 3 miles NE of Tapesovo, and it is now the county seat for that area. I have relatives in both cities, so I traveled that route often when I was there in October. I made a PDF of that route from AutoRoute (Microsoft's mapping program for Europe). Since only JPGs can be attached, please email me if you'd like me to email it to you. robert(at)yadron(dot)net--NOT com! A Slovak cousin sent me a wonderful detailed map of that area of Slovakia (Orava), and I would be happy to share that with anyone. Email me. There are three films available at the LDS Family History Centers that cover Lokca, which is where the church for Tapesovo was located (also covers Breza and other villages and towns in that area): 2002461, 2002462 and 2002463. Namestovo would be yet under different film numbers, and I have not viewed any of them yet. Those three films are on permanent loan at the Vista FHC in San Diego County, if you happen to live near there. I have recently began adding the Bugajs in those records to my Family Tree Maker database, but so far there are only 25. I would be happy to share any information I have with you or anyone else interested in that area of Slovakia! BTW, Tyapesso is the Hungarian spelling of Tapesovo and is often seen in Ellis Island records, in addition to its many misspellings too.
