    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: Tina_PS Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.eeurope.slovenia.general/6590.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: The last name Hotra does not exist in modern-day Slovenia. It also doesn't sound Slovene. Based on the fact that Mikita is not a Slovene name, and that he came from a place called Suhá, I sincerely doubt he was Slovenian. There is indeed a place called Suha near Skofja Loka (Bischofslack in German), but it is a name without any inflections, and yours has one. There are several places called Sucha (same pronounciation, alternate spelling) in today's Czech and Slovak republics and Poland, so I suggest you expand your search there also. On the other hand, the last name Hegedus exists in Slobvenia of today, in and near Ljubljana and in and near Murska Sobota. But only 9 people are listed altogeter, on 6 different addresses. Kiozte does not sound Slovenian (again), so maybe those other boards can help you with that as well. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
