Author: jabrown56 Surnames: Znidersic, Vimpolsek Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.eeurope.slovenia.general/6579/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Is anyone researching the family of Martin Znidersic and Ursula Vimpolsek? My grandfather Franc was their son and he was born in Sevnica in 1888. I have very little details and would love to know more about him. There are plenty of entries on Ellis Island database but nothing that can be proven to be the same family. If anyone sees this post and knows of someone who may be connected or just have information about the Znidersic's in general, perhaps you would be kind enough to pass on my address. Author: Tina_PS Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.eeurope.slovenia.general/6577.1.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: 1. Mihael got married to/on no. 5 (could be house no. 5) with Marija Pavlersic from Perudina 19 (address). They had three children, Barbara, Marija and Katarina, who died 2 years after birth. The elder two probably got married somewhere else (i.e. they left home) so Mihael's brother Georg and his wife moved into this house (no. 5, I suppose). 2. Could be she (who?) was related to Marija Pavlesic. The Pavlesic family, the generation of fathers of these children (could be Mihael and Georg are "these children", but then again, maybe "these children" are Barbara, Marija and Katarina - it's impossible to tell by just looking at the pronouns) were born between 1770 and 1780, there were several of them, they might have been brothers, but it's impossible to tell. As you can see, my comments are in (). "Marijo" is a declination of the first name Marija (4th case singular). I translated the two paragraphs literally, they do not say anything about Marija Pavlersic herself, except that she came from Perudina 19. I also cannot tell if you're talking about Marija 1 (mother) or Marija 2 (daughter). Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I am particularly interested in what happened to the three children, what is mentioned about Mihaelov brat Georg z zeno? What about the ten years 1770 and 1780, and anything else about Marijo Pavlersic that it says; she is my 3rd gr grandmother. Was it out of wedlock???? Thank you so much. I'm trying to research Andrew John Slavic/Slaveck. He was born 15 Oct 1889, probably in Turnisce, Slovenia (his wife Anna Kolman was born there in 1892). He died in 1928. They did not immigrate together (may not have known each other 'til the States). Anna Kolman traveled to the US in 1912 (sponsored by Holy Name Cathedral). She lived with relatives in Bridgeport, Connecticut before going on to Chicago, Illinois and marrying Andrew John Slavic/Slaveck. We'd love some help learning more about these people, but would be equally appreciative to learn of any other online groups who specialize in this researching people from this region. This part of Slovenia is close to borders with Austria, Hungary and Croatia. We're told the town has changed control many times over the years. Any ideas? Any advice? Ancestry.com has almost nothing. A death record for Andrew and lines in the 1930 Census for Anna "Slavic" living in Chicago with her 4 children. That's it. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer! - Waldron Faulkner Boston, MA Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. We could be looking at photos of a family - Betty/Beverly and her husband Luj/Luigi/Ludvik had some sons (bevi bojs - at least two sons). How many people are in the first photo? Bevi bojs in mi Betty's boys and us, and there could be two more persons - a Jeni/Jeri (Jenny/Jerry) and a Zani (Gianni). Or, the Jeni could really be a Jerry, and he and Gianni are the "bevi boys" (Betty and Luigi's sons) in question. So, I'm guessing there are at least 4 persons (the two boys and "us") in the photo. I sincerely doubt they were returning to the old country in that time (after/pre war time). I'd rather believe that only the photo was sent and that someone from the US wrote on it, about the people s/he remembered from home.
