I just received information from the archives in Slovenia and it states that my great-grandfather, John Gorsek lived at Loke 13 Bergman. I am not sure what that means. Although I did not find the marriage record for Joseph Simonich and Maria Kobe, the Gottscheer Heritage and Genealogy Association may be able to help. Gottschee was a German linquistic region in southern Slovenia for over 600 years until 1941. The city of Gottschee is now known as Kocevje. She married Josef Klauzer and they immigrated from Slovenia via Havre in 1904. They first settled in PA then VA and finally IL. I have seen many variations on the spelling as Simoncec and Simonsic. Maria's sister's family changed it to Simonize when they came to the States. Maria's father(born abt 1850)was Friedrich Simonisek from Slovenia. Alojze Rot was married to Mathias Pirnat and they had two sons, Dr, Louis and John or Janez, my grandfather 1/11/1883. Dr. Louis studied medicine in Austria and practiced in Ljub. He married and may have had one daughter. My grandfather John Pirnat(1/11/1883) came to USA and met and married Marija Lavric (5/6/1879) on 6/22/1903. They had two daughters here, Frances or Franciska 11/22/1904 and Aloyzya 5/25/1906 who died 9/1926. They returned to Zales and had a son, John 10/1/1908 and two daughters, Mary 2/3/11 and Josephine (my mother) 4-12-12. Aloyzya died at about age 20, all others lived long lives. Janez died in 1952 and his wife Marija died 2/27/1960. Frances married Andrew Zakrajsek (from Bloke?) and had three children; Frances, Andrew and Stanley. John married Anne Marolt and had three children: John, and fraternal twins Martha and James Rudolph. Mary married Edward Fatur in the 1930s (maybe 1938) and had Edward John 10/1/1942 and Jeanne Marie 9/30/44. Josephine married Frank Fatur (they were maid of honor and best man at Edw and Mary's wedding) on 5/13/39. They had my brother Frank 7/13/43 and me, Joyce on 7/7/45. Mary Pirnat Fatur died in 1980, Josephine Pirnat Fatur on 6/5/2004 at age 92. I'll fill in more dates later if I can. I hope you can follow this. If ist too confusing, let me know.
