"...is there a way to find out if they became a citizen?' One fast way, without even having to get up, is to look at the EI ship manifest, if the person you are wondering about is there. If there is a number written across the name, or somewhere near it, they applied for citizenship. I believe it was after 1903 (?) the courts had to verify what ship and the date they came over.
