So it seems......there does not seem to be a link to anyone else with that name.....really odd. My Grandfather had a sister Polona Olenik that no one knows anything about. I do know of the family in Weirton and yes, he was a law officer. Ah, the sleeping giant awakes! I knew there had to be some people out there. I think I accidentally deleted one E-mail that was researching Lehoczky, and the other didn't sign a name, but I'm sure you know who you are. My 4th great grandfather was Marton Lehoczky, married to Sophia Varga. I first came across his name when I found the marriage record of my 3rd great grandparents, (Maria Lehoczky and George Gettler) who married in 1800. The church film that I am viewing is the Evangelical church from Jelsava, Gemer County, Slovakia (1898 - 1785). I viewed the film backwards, from the most recent time, on back. I am about at the end of the roll, and found the baptism record for one of their children, Samuel, in 1788. That birth record caught my attention for obvious reasons, and also because I discovered Marton had a Nobel title. What fun! I don't know how far back that family goes in Jelsava, or if they migrated from some other county at some point in time. I guess that is a problem we all have at one time or another, when they just fall off the records, and we have no idea where to look from there. Pretty soon I will view the Catholic church film from there, and hope to pick up where I left off with them in the Evangelical church film. The Catholic film goes back to about 1675. To the person that mentioned that their Lehoczky's came from Debrecen and Banocz: I looked up those towns in the web site Hungarian Village Finder, and found 3 towns with the name Debrecen. One was in Hajdo County, Hungary another in Szilagy County, Romania and the third in Szolnok-Doboka County, Romania. Do you know which one it would be? Banacz is in Zemplen County, part in Hungary and part in Slovakia, I believe. None are exactly next door to Gemer County, but I don't know if that means anything. People did travel. Tomorrow I'll check the marriage index and see how far up in time I can find the name. Hadn't paid much attention to it since I didn't find it in my family till 1800. Joyce

Perhaps the lack of activity is due to the peculiar "feature" of this site; when replying to a message, if "Reply to All" is not selected, the response to any inquiry goes only to the originator. This results in the loss of any opportunity to share data. Dr. "Q"
