Hi everyone. I just received a reply from NARA to my request for John's pension record. I had his birth date as 1740...but I received a note from them saying that John's pension record showed that he was born in 1759. Did he lie about his age to join the militia???? I did find out the correct date of the Battle of Ramsaur's Mill to be June 20, 1789 not 1790; can someone please correct me if I'm wrong? I looked up the battle date in a history book I checked out from the library. Has anyone on the list successfully received John's pension file before?
