Does anyone out there know the connection between the Flatt's and Sloan's of Jackson county Tn.? I have the following data: Jesse E Sloan b. 1825 Tn m. Arilla ? b. 1828 Tn children: Marion Franklin Sloan b. 1846 Macon co. Montervill L Sloan b. 1856 Jackson co. Samantha A Sloan b. 1858 Jackson co (married William Wade Witcher) Corinna F Sloan b. 1862 Jackson co Arilla Ann Sloan b. 1865 Jackson co Albert Sloan b. 1868 Jackson co Etheredge Flatt b. 1878 listed as cousin to Montervill Sloan on 1900 Smith co census parents of Etheredge: Bevly Flatt and Mattie Flatt (maiden name -not near kin) Bevly Flatt's parents were Wiliam Alex Flatt and Sally Dixon. There are Sloans, Witchers, Richardsons, Dixons and Huffines all buried in Richardson graveyard, including Jesse E Sloan, Samantha Sloan Witcher, William Wade Witcher, John M Dixon and Eliza H Dixon. I don't know Arilla's maiden name or Jesse's parents. If I can find the connection to the Flatt's, hopefully if will help me find one or the other of these.
