After months of impatiently waiting I have finally received the pension application records for my g-g-grandfather, Jesse E. Sloan. There are pages of documents and were well worth the time to obtain. Included was a marriage license for Jesse and his last (third) wife Mary Jane Long. It also provided me with a date of death, 25 Mar 1889 and a physical desceription: 5'-6", pale complexion, light hair and blue eyes. I still don't have any clue to his parents, though. This is my brick wall. If anyone runs into anything that would point to who the parents for Jesse E. Sloan are, I would REALLY appreciate hearing from you.
