To all researchers and descencants of John SLOAN and Rachel ALDERMAN... Since I posted my tentative claim for D. SLOAN in the Confederate Army, I have had a few of you send private e-mail asking about Stanley Sloan of Tucson. He published a Sloan book in 1988 which covered many of the John & Rachel Sloan family. Stan is still living in Tucson ... in an assisted living home. His memory is just about gone and does not carry on a conversation well any more. So he will not be doing an update on his book.... I will. A few years ago he and I talked about the next book. As a result, I have his notes etc and will follow up with the next publication... hopefully in the first half of 1999. I did most of my Sloan research from 6 to 13 years ago and accumulated "most" of what I need, but this book might as well be complete and correct. Right???? I could use a lot of help in getting corrections and filling in omissions. The list and number of us descended from John and Rachel is extremely large. I might not have your info.
