Well that was great! Not only did I get some leads as to where Sloans in Ireland might come from but some cousins linked up. I am glad I asked that question. I don't think any of the John Sloans mentioned is my John Sloan, however. This is partly to do with getting my initial information wrong. Therer are so amny johns, Roberts and Williams I do get a little confused.
