    2. The Happy 99 virus (actually a "worm:) has been sweeping through genealogy mail lists. I have received it twice from postings on genealogy lists and avoided infection by not opening. The sender does not know the Happy99 is there...it just "hops on". If you don't open the attachment, it will not infect your computer. For more information of this and the even more deadly CIH or Chernobyl virus, see the Symantec site at: http://www.symantec.com. Symantec makes Norton Antivirus and is a reliable source of info on viruses. They also offer free patches to Norton users for both Happy 99 and CIH. Helen Gant Donald
