The Happy 99 virus (actually a "worm:) has been sweeping through genealogy mail lists. I have received it twice from postings on genealogy lists and avoided infection by not opening. The sender does not know the Happy99 is there...it just "hops on". If you don't open the attachment, it will not infect your computer.
