Hello, Sloans. Couple of things. First, I wrote to the SLOAN Valve Company a couple of weeks ago and requested their history page. While telling the PR person some personal info, we struck up a nice little "friendship". When she mailed me the history, she included a free SLOAN hat. I was so surprised. Along with the hat, she included a merchandise sheet that you can buy additional SLOAN stuff. (I did this a few years ago for my mom, who loved having a SLOAN coffee mug, pen, portfolio and sweats in the nursing home!) Now, they have other nice things, so if you're interested in buying something with your name on it, the SLOAN Valve Company sells them. Now, onto my family history. I'm looking for the parents of Joseph Francis SLOAN, who emigrated from Ireland in 1868 and moved to Dayton OH. He married Elizabeth BLACK (I think here in Dayton) and had several children, including Mark C., Elizabeth Mildred, Gilbert F., and my grandfather Joseph Daniel SLOAN. Any info about my ggrandfather's parents, or any of these siblings will be appreciated. Are we related? Sandy Sloan
