I am also interested in the line of James and Jean Sloan. My husband descends from James Sloan who was married to Frances Brown (daughter of Benjamin Brown and Nancy Sloan). Thier daughter Elizabeth was married to Aaron Deweese. I have a copy of the will (transcription below) of James Sloan Sr., but there is no mention of son James. What sources do you have that shows James as his son (please tell me you have a bible record)? Our James did have a sister Jane who was married to David Davis. Jane was not mentioned in the will either. Would love to see what information that would prove this family. Sue Will of James Sloan, July 13, 1792 In the name of God Amen.
