Hi everyone! I'm new to the list so I thought I'd post my direct Sloan line. My farthest back Sloan that I know about is James Sloan b. ca 1729 at sea. He married Jane/Jean in PA. He died 1792-1796 in Mecklenburg Co.,NC. His father may have been John. James and Jane had 10 children: 1) Hannah- married GARDNER 2) Elizabeth- married GARDNER 3) Catherine- married NEWMAN 4) John b. ca 1759 Lancaster Co.,PA married Mary GARDNER 5) Thomas b. 25 OCT 1760 Lancaster Co.,PA- was married twice 6) Pvt. James b. 1761 Lancaster Co.,PA married BROWN 7) Jane b. 16 MAR 1768 NC married DAVIS 8) Joseph b. 12 APR 1775 Mecklenburg Co.,NC married Mary "Polly" HAMILTON 9) Mary 10) Rachel. My line is through Joseph and Polly.They had 8 children: 1) James McCreary, 2) John Hamilton, 3) Ephraim Pharr, 4) Elton, 5) Louisa, 6) Dovy, 7) William Bradley, 8) Franklin. My line is through Ephraim Pharr and his (2) wife Anna Wells. They had 7 children: George Washington, Sarah Melissa, Abraham Newton "Newt", Morris Goodman, Joseph Wilson, Jesse Melton, Mary Jane. My line is through Mary Jane and her husband James Marion Duncan. I have more information on this line and am willing to share.
